Berlin's next few weeks bring technology, art, sport, motorsport and light installations. This guide includes confirmed dates only — and is equally clear about the occasions when driving is not the sensible choice.
If you are searching for Berlin Rent Car or Rent Car Berlin for an event arrival, each listing includes a practical recommendation. Our hire cars are for travel to and from the Lausitzring only; circuit, drift or drag-race use is not permitted.
30 August 2026 · Olympic Stadium
ISTAF Berlin: a major sporting setting with limited parking
ISTAF brings international athletics to Berlin's Olympic Stadium on 30 August. The white Taycan suits a distinctive arrival, although parking around the stadium is limited and mostly paid.
Drivers should leave early and check the designated areas at Olympischer Platz and PO4/PO5. Owing to demand, the venue itself recommends public transport.
4–8 September 2026 · Messe Berlin
IFA Berlin: technology meets electric drive
IFA brings consumer technology, connected products and future-facing themes to Messe Berlin. The Porsche Taycan is a natural match: fully electric, quiet and in keeping with the setting.
The venue is at Messedamm 22. Parking is available, but heavy exhibition traffic is likely. Allow extra time and check IFA's visitor information shortly before travelling.
9–13 September 2026 · Across Berlin
Berlin Art Week: several locations, not one address
Berlin Art Week connects more than 100 museums, collections, galleries and project spaces. The pink Taycan suits a visible arrival; the white Taycan a more understated evening itinerary.
Because the programme is spread across the city, a route with a few deliberate stops is more realistic than constant location-hopping. For central venues, a car park followed by a short walk can be the better solution.
12–13 September & 4 October · Lausitzring
Motorsport near Berlin: Racepool99 and GRIP Motorevent
The DEKRA Lausitzring at Klettwitz is the credible option for anyone wanting more motorsport in 2026. Racepool99 visits on 12 and 13 September; GRIP — Das Motorevent follows on 4 October with displays, a drift show and racing-taxi experiences.
From Berlin, take the A13 to exit 15 Klettwitz. A Corvette or Taycan hire is strictly for travelling to and from the venue — never for a track day, drift, drag race or any circuit use. Only racing taxis or vehicles explicitly provided by the organiser belong on the track.
22–26 September 2026 · Messe & Olympic Stadium
InnoTrans and Pyronale: plan early, arrive calmly
InnoTrans runs from 22 to 25 September at Messe Berlin and is particularly relevant for international business visitors. Paid parking is available; the white Taycan works well for appointments and hotel transfers.
Pyronale takes place on 25 and 26 September at the Maifeld. Entry in 2026 is through the South Gate only. Parking at P01, P04, P05 and P07 is limited, making an early arrival or park-and-ride the realistic advice.
9–18 October 2026 · Central Berlin
Festival of Lights: a strong visual, a difficult driving route
The Festival of Lights includes landmarks such as Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Cathedral, the TV Tower, Potsdamer Platz, the Victory Column and Oberbaum Bridge. The pink Taycan makes a fitting statement before or after the programme.
A self-drive circuit is not sensible because of the central locations, traffic and parking search. Leave the car at your hotel or in a car park, then use an official Lightseeing option or walk between selected installations.
Fact check
Formula 1 in Berlin? Not in 2026
The official 2026 Formula 1 calendar includes neither Berlin nor a German Grand Prix. Berlin's Formula E race took place at Tempelhof on 2 and 3 May 2026, so it is not an upcoming event.
One more important date: the Berlin Marathon takes place on 27 September. With extensive road closures in Mitte, Tiergarten and other districts, that Sunday is explicitly a poor choice for driving through central Berlin.
